Wen Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in April 1968, Robert F. Kennedy made an impromptu speech in Indianapolis, honouring him and calling for the US to unite together, not be divided.
And he said this:
My favorite poet was Aeschylus. He wrote: "In our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God."
I think this was very fitting for Bobby, since he had lost his brother only a few years ago and had gotten to be clsoe friends with MLK - and two months later MLK's death, Bobby was dead himself. I find it very darkly ironic thus... and it's a shame we had to lose 2 of our greatest leaders within a year.
