I was thinking the other day that I don't think I would really do anything differently at all if there were no laws! The reason I don't steal, murder, etc, isn't because there are laws against it, but because I don't believe in doing things like that. I wouldn't even go any faster in my car, because I believe in being safe!

The only thing I could think of that would be different is I probably wouldn't pay my taxes! hahaha.

What about you?

If there were no laws, I don't think there would be many of us around. Remember what happened in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? True, the bad guys who would do such horrible things are a minority, but they could still decimate the population rather quickly.

The reason you think that you would follow the same set of internal laws with no need of external ones is because you have been conditioned by your culture and religion to have that internal sense of right and wrong. If there were no law, ever.. there would be no concept of right and wrong and it would just be, as someone above answered, the law of the fittest. Even now if the laws just stopped, it would not be long before we would be in anarchy and you would not feel safe to leave whatever shelter you could find. You would abandon all the ideology that you think you hold dear, find a big dog and a gun and try to survive. Good Luck. In that type of world, the good people like you would not only finish last, we would be dead.

I'm like you. I live the life the way I think I should, not because of laws. I don't think I want to go back to the dark ages. Laws are there for a reason. Let's keep them.

The only thing I do that is against the law (but not really morally wrong!) is smoke pot. So I would probably do that in public opposed to other places lol. But that would probably be the only difference.

Without laws and people paid for by my taxes to enforce them, I would spend all of my miserable existence in the presence of my clan or tribe on the lookout for other clans or tribes. No property could exist, because bigger stronger people or clans or tribes could just take it. Agriculture would be impossible, because roving bands would steal produce and livestock with impunity. Only one's own band's ability to ward off intruders would afford protection and a sense of safety. I have based my answer on hunter-gatherer bands that exist in nomadic societies such as existed in the Amazon until recent times. If that does not suit you, thank God that you live in a society with laws and with brave men and women to enforce them for you.

I don't know that I would live much differently.

I would probably speed some more. I know I wouldn't be getting myself down to the DMV!!

As far as anything else, I would still be accountable to Christ. So in myself I would follow what He has instilled in me.

i became fortunate that I grew up believing that i became responsible for springing up my own actuality/opportunities/existence. i became taught that i'm responsible for all of it. So that's greater of a existence-form for me considering the fact that I even have by no ability believed something diverse. We convey into our lives what we pick to convey into them. there's a feeling of freedom and empowerment, yet it incredibly is tied to a deep sense of duty. It did no longer provide up me from attracting the incorrect issues to my existence (now and returned I nonetheless do) even nonetheless it does not enable me to place the blame on anybody/something yet my self. i'm pleased with that. i became additionally taught the cost of utilising my breath (speech) to talk issues into existence (real stuff--no longer Hollywood stuff). the potential of theory whilst mixed with speech is an dazzling gadget.

I would buy a bunch of guns to protect myself from others, if there were no laws, then rapists, murderers, child molesters would flourish and roam free.

Greetings. if there were absolutely no laws, that would mean there were no religious laws either. and the idea that it is wrong to murder or steal is a religous or ethical one. I would still agree with you. I still would believe in honor and in doing what I could for others. but I would also believe in using the hangmans rope when it was needed. Ever read Ayn Rand? her novel Atlas Shrugged? in it is a section that says "Laws? we do not pass laws because we expect you to obey them. we pass laws because we know you cannot obey all of them and that makes you feel guilty. and a guilty feeling person is easy to control and enslave." and I would pay taxes, but not the horrible ones we have now. Did you know that the income tax is not a law? it is a emergency tax to pay for the fighting of World War 1 and is only for one year. every year our great Congress votes to extend it one more year. Why? maybe because they love us.
