The moment I found out I was pregnant. You realize that in your past everything was much more "free" I could spend all my money without worrying too much about it and I cant do that now. I could go anywhere without any trouble. All I had to buy for groceries was Ramen. : ) I also realized that I could never love another human being as much as I love my child.
It really is life changing because every decision you make after you have a child is a decision that is made with your child in mind. And everything you do is also done with your child in mind. One very small example is laundry. I always make sure my child has plenty of clothes washed before I worry about my or my fiances clothes. Another, larger example is money. I cant just go out and buy this and that whenever I want now. We budget our money to make sure that we can pay bills when they need to be paid, that we have enough groceries as well as a healthy variety, have enough to put some away in our daughters savings account, and have spending money for unexpected things or for "rainy day" money.
Having a child required the most dramatic life change I've ever had to make but it has also been the most rewarding experience of my life.

I had a life changing moment of clarity at work a couple of years ago. I used to be the hardest working person in my section, I always finished my work and voluntarily helped other's with theirs. I showed up on time every day, never took long lunches or long breaks (and actually skipped lunches sometimes), and I always made sure everyone's work was done on time- even if it meant I stayed after my quitting time to help and always did twice as much as other people. I never once complained.
I noticed several of my coworkers mssing a lot of work, sleeping at their desks, socializing all day, talking on their phones all the time, and leaving early.
Then one day my supervisor comes storming into the office on a tirade- complaining that we were all lazy and were all wasting too much time, and that we were slacking off on our work- especially me. That ***** singled me out because I happened to have been sitting right in front of her.
My moment of clarity hit me just then. I turned off my computer, got up from my desk, and went for a walk. I did come back after an hour and then spent the rest of the day reading magazines at my desk. I then proceeded to come into work late every day for a week. and when that ***** asks me to help her or stay late I tell her no. When she asks me why not I don't make up excuses like everyone else. I tell her straight to her face "because I don't like this place and I don't like you and I'd rather sit on my bed at home and watch cartoons than be here."
Now I eat at my desk, read at my desk, don't answer my phone, and refuse to help people on the basis that I just don't like them.

when i told my (now ex) bf that I was so fed up with life, I wanted nothing more than to jab the huge kitchen knife through my heart..
(we were BEYOND arguing and I was doing dishes)...
and he said " then effin do it...do it if it'll make you happy. dont be one of those people who says they'll do something and then doesnt do it.)
So... I took the knife, I calmly took a piece of paper, locked myself in the bathroom, wrote a quick goodbye/sorry to my parents.. Turned on the shower, stripped down, climbed in, was in the middle of my prayer to god (holding the knife to my skin.. when my boyfriend broke the door, jumped in the shower with me, shaking, threwthe knife across the bathroom, and just held me saying "no baby, dont. please dont" I cried for a good 6 hours that night. I shook, and cried.. to the point that only percocet could make me fall asleep.
I was battling extreme demons..
Im a good, faithful, religious person.. and I was going to end my life, because of a threat. That was my moment of clarity. I realized rash decisions arent the best.

Anytime there's a death of a love one. You feel compiled to reflect on life and who they impacted your world. It's almost a gut check to change your life for the better.

I've never had one of those.
Or, if I have, it's been so brief that it didn't register.
