I have seen articles in the newspaper about the various possible geological sites of Atlantis (assuming it existed). Could it be possible that at one time Antarctica was located somewhere else and had a civilization on it? I just thought of this while i was watching the history channel. Information is appreciated. Have a goodnight.

I mean, the ice on the surface of antarctica is miles thick...no one really knows what it was like before the ice accumulated on it.

there are many speculation regarding Atlantis. There isn't only one explanation. However, I have read somewhere that it has been proved that the climate changes constantly and in the past where now lies Antarctica was a very fertile land and Antarctica was were nowadays Australia is.
Apparently now we are facing the same changes in climate. For example, I'm sure everyone noticed that all over the world the weather shifts drastically causing temperature to rise or fall. Thus creating a climate very different from what that part of the world used to have (like snow/excessive heat etc.)
It has already been proved that some parts of the world will turn into desert .

Possible.
It's extremely cold in antarctica but who knows, may be there where extraterrestrilas who helped formed the Atlantis civilization. Even the stone henge is still unexplainable.

But we can only assume it that way until scientists verify them.

Try reading http://atlantis.haktanir.org

It says Atlantis could be somewhere the Atlantic Ocean or somewhere near Cyprus.

Antarctica is supposed to be in the region just off of Spain (Or Northern Africa I suppose) as such, a city that is largely submerged has been found in the general area, although it is nothing as grand as was described.

Other evidence shows visitors from Europe / Africa visiting the Americas several thousand BC (I'm unsure on the actual date) as evident by various local myths detailing fair skinned travelers from afar arriving in Boats without sails.

1. Atlantis never existed
2. If it did, it certainly didn't exist in Antarctica. The ice has been there for nearly half a million years and there were no civilisations on this planet that long ago.

There is no evidence there was ever human settlement on antarctica, so no Atlantis could not be there.

Atlantis is where my great great great grandfather came from,

It was somewhere in the atlantic occean
a great flood washed the city away

only my grandad and the great great great great granddad of saddam hussain escaped the flood.

One settled in arabia and mine settled in Asia,
