on child endangerment, charges.
They will have no problem what so ever, in obtaining a conviction on this charge, as the MacCanns have done so by their own admission.
The police in my Country will get you on one thing, if they dont get you on another, and I am sure this applies to all Countries

I don't believe everything I see or hear. Without facts we know nothing.

Although I agree they neglected and abandoned their children night after night - I dont think they did so with malicious intent. They were incredibly stupid. It should have been stated long long ago by the police and others that this was not an appropriate way to look after children when most of the press attention was on it.

I do find it annoying they seem to sweep this element under the carpet and have not once used their media platform to warn other parents about doing the same thing and stating openly that it was obviously wrong and they would never do it again. I am sure they think that privately but its not enough.

As far as charging with child endangerment - I guess they should be and handed a suspended sentence or community service to send out a message. Although I think they (and Maddy) have suffered enough (if they are innocent) I think it sends out a bad message if nothing is said about it.

Well in response to CB's response. CB if a toddler is running ahead of their parents and the parents let them then I feel they are crappy parents. Why because just like I know what can happen when you leave kids alone I also know what can happen when you let toddlers run free so yes I would say it is neglect. Neglect is not taking proper care of your children. My toddler is 4 and he knows better then to run off from me and knows he has to hold my hand or he will be punished or be made to ride in a stroller then the next time we are out. Why do I do this so there is not an accident and my child not killed because it is my job to make sure they are not running in the streets. God help the children in this world who have parents that don't know what it means to protect their children.

I'm as sick of hearing about the McCanns as you are, but I think we should all get off their backs. The 'Find Madeleine' campaign is very annoying, but let's not perpetuate the furore by expressing our speculations. The police have a job to do, we should let them get on with it.

Totally agree with you KwikBrownFox.
And also -if the McCanns are to be charged with child endangerment, don't you think all their party should be too? They all took the same risks with their kids -doesn't make what the McCanns did any worse just because they were the unlucky ones (again, if they are innocent).

Hello,

(ANS) Sorry! but I couldn't disagree more, your argument holds no water at all.

The Portuguese Police have attempted to scapegoat the McCann's precisely because a) they have bungled this case from day 1, b) the Portuguese police clearly have so little real hard evidence to go on and this makes them look stupid as they are clutching at straws. c) The Portuguese police don't want the wider public to think that there country is a safe haven for pedophiles & child murders.

**As I have said before about this case, in my opinion Madeline McCann was abducted and was removed out of Portugal within the first 24hrs and could literally be any where in the world i.e. could be continents away.

**Madeline McCann is extremely unlikely ever to be found or seen again and Yes! this is utterly horrible for the child's parents (they have lost a child and yet have no body to grieve over). The McCann case reminds me of the case of Ben Needham a pretty blond boy of about 5 or 6 years old who was abducted from his parents in Greece many years ago and despite a high press & media campaign was never found and is still missing to this day.

The police may charge the Mccans with whatever they want, the truth is a conviction will never stand.
The way the investigation has been conducted will be ripped to pieces by any defender.

'Morning Justme!
Um...if the Portuguese Police already have them on child endangerment...don't you think the McCanns would not be the UK today???

True, the McCanns rightly admitted they felt guilt for leaving their babies unattended. That was child neglect (which is not the same as endangerment in the sense that there was no "intent to harm").

They have been met with by the Social Services who conclude that this was a genuine wrong decision with no intent to harm & that the twins are safe with their parents who love & take good care of them.

Set them up you mean?
Hindsight is a great thing. People do risky things everyday without knowing they are risky until something happens. Most times nothing happens and all is OK. People who say they never compromise their child safety have just been lucky so far.

Its commonly known as life!! life is risky.

I see children running ahead of their parents next to the road everyday on my way to work. If there was a accident, is it a criminal case? of course it isn't, they would have been negligent, stupid naive and a few other things. All of which apply in this case.

I don't think they will press for the charges on child endangermanet/abandoment - can you imagine the backlash which in turn would effect their heavily relied on tourism industry.

The Sun and NOTW readers would be in uproar and the tourism will be affected.

They should be brought up on neglect charges and so should their friends just because their children were not taken they should not get away with it
