Just wanted ti say thank you to everyone who not only helped me through my pregnancy but also now in the past 5 weeks since as my daughter has been born. Its been a bit of a bumpy rise, through the post natal depression but I am happy to say that I am feeling alot better. Still have my off days but as she grows, so does my love for her. She actually started sleeping better.. was alert for most of the day yesterday and maybe slept for around 2 hrs but then slept from 12 30 1am ish til 06am. She did fuss about 03 30am, but we persevered , making sure she wasnt hungry adn changed her nappy. It might be a one off but its a step inthe right direction! So thanks to all who have answered questions and helped!x

You have been given the best gift you could ever be given...cherish it.

As I've said before, it does get easier! Those early days are hard. If she hasn't already, very soon your little girl will start giving you a huge smile when she sees you first thing in the morning, and that is the loveliest feeling. It's great that she's sleeping better at night. Unfortunately, sleeping through the night isn't something that is natural and instinctive to babies, they have to learn it! My little one is nearly five months and only just starting to sleep through!

I know there are lots of people on here who have followed you through your pregnancy, including me - so can I ask a question back? What is your little girl called, and how much did she weigh??!

I'm really glad to hear that things are brightening up for you. It can only get better! The first few months are hell with hormones and sleep deprivation - no getting around it - but it is so worth it as they start to grow and take an interest in the world.

Major fun to come when she starts to crawl then walk and talk. I love spending time with my little one - she's just a bundle of giggles sometimes and it does your heart good.

Glad to hear you got help for the post natal depression, I suffered with it after both my kids were born, first time with my daughter (she is now 3.5) and it took 6 months before anybody believed me there was something wrong, but luckily for me I knew what to look for with my son (10months) and I felt the anxious falling through space feeling, and that I was losing the ability to perform simple tasks like housework. Doc prescribed me my happy pills, and I am still on them now (a bit scared to come off, lol). Post natal depression is debilitating and horrible, it robs you of good times with your baby while they are tiny.
Congrats on your baby and am sincerely pleased somebody believed you needed help. Good luck.

congratulations to you, glad to hear that things are improving for you. Hang on in there she will eventually sleep through the night, and be a teenager before you know it. Look after yourself :)

I know it's late, but congratulations! If you have a "blue day", don't be scared of asking for help and support, from your partner, Health Visitor or us!
