First make sure all the fractions are reduced, meaning the bottom number can't be any smaller. ....4/6....2 can go into 4 and 6... 2 goes into 4 twice and 6 three times so 4/6 is the same as 2/3.
Now you can add the fractions: 2/3+2/3 because you have the same bottom number....all you have to do is add the top number and keep 3 on the bottom....so it equals 4/3
the next step is to reduce the fraction. 3 goes into 4 once with 1 left over....so you say it is 1(and)1/3.
Does that help? Math can be tricky. Keep trying and don't let teachers discourage you. Some subjects take more effort than others and that is different for everyone. (i was terrible at science)

first you want to find the smallest denominator (the number under the division bar) that the denominators can multiply up to.
in this case, it is 6 because 3x2=6 and 6x1=6
after that, you multiply each part of the problem by a number so that their denominators are the same. so:
2/3 x 2/2 (the 2 in the bottom will make the bottom number 6 and the 2 in the top means that truly you are multiplying by 1) + 4/6 x 1/1.
you get 4/6 and 4/6. then you add them together to get 8/6 (when adding fractions, only add the top numbers(numerators) and never the denominators).
8/6 can be simplified because 8 and six have a factor in common. 8 can be re-written as 2x2x2 and 6 can be re-written as 2x3. so truly the problem is (2x2x2)/(2x3). 2/2 =1, so one two from the numerator cancels out one from the denominator. you get an answer of (2x2)/3, which can be written as 4/3

A fraction, a/b, a is called numerator whereas, b is called a denominator
for addition, you need the denominator to be the same in order to add them
In this case,
2/3 + 4/6
2/3 and 4/6 has denominator 3 and 6 respectively
we need to multiply 3 by two, to make the denominator the same as 4/6
when we multiply 3 by two, we also need to multiply the numerator, which is 2, by two also
now we get 4/6 + 4/6
next, we just add both numerators together,
and the ANSWER IS 8/6
just add the numerator, let the denominator stays as 6.
you can also make 8/6 a smaller fraction, and that will be 4/3
[ both numerator and denominator are divided by two]

No worries, remember that in order to add fractions you have to find a common denominator or the lower number has to be the same in each fraction.
So if you multiply both numerators and denominators of one of the fractions by 2 (multiply the top and the bottom of one fraction, the one with the lowest bottom number)...
2/3 multiply both the top and bottom by 2 and you get 4/6.
Now you can add the two top number togethor
Four plus four equals eight so 8/12
Then simplify the equation to the lowest common denominator (lowest common lower number)
Divide both by 4 because four goes into both and the answer is 2/6.
Since six is an even number you can divide it again and get a whole number so divide both the top and the bottom by 2 to get a lower common denominator
1/3 is the answer. Once you have a denomiator that is an odd number, you have found the lowest common denominator.
Best wishes on your studies.

4/6 is equals to 2/3 (by diving up and down with 2 - numerator and denominator, we called it).
so, 2/3 + 4/6 = 2/3 + 2/3, right? An apple plus an apple is equal to two apples (i always teach my form six students this way!).
therefore, 2/3 + 2/3 = 2 times 2/3 which is 4/3 or 1 1/3

2/3 + 4/6 = 1 1/3 cancel out to find the lowest common denominator. 4/6 cancels out to 2/3. 2/3+2/3=1 1/3.

THIS IS PRETTY EASY. FIRST YOU HAVE TO REDUCE THE FRACTIONS TO THEIR LOWEST FORM. 4/6=2/3 ONE IN THE SAME. 2/3 SAME AS 4/6, BUT NOT IN THE LOWEST FORM. THEN IT IS A SIMPLE PROCESS TO ADD THE TOP NUMBERS. 2+2=4 OR 4/3. NOW REDUCE TO THE LOWEST FORM AGAIN AND IT IS 1 WHOLE = I/3. THEN ANSWER IS 1 1/3.
REMEMBER WHEN REDUCING TO THE LOWEST FORM, YOU MUST DIVIDE THE TOP AND BOTTOM NUMBERS BY THE SAME. IN THE FIRST STEP WE USED 2 AS THE DIVISOR. THE SECOND STEP WE USED 3, BECAUSE WE WERE TRYING TO FIND HOW MANY THIRDS WE HAVE NOW. 3 BEING 1 WHOLE AND 1 MORE IS THE REMAINDER.

2/3+4/6 Multiply the numerator and denominator (top and bottom) by 2 for the 2/3 to make the denominator the same as 4/6
That will be (2x2)/(2x3) + 4/6
Then it's 4/6+4/6 which is 8/6 then you simplify 4/3
=)
