Earlier today our neighborhood was blocked off within a 4 block radius. A man had ran out of his depressants and started shooting at a man (that was on school property). Well, after an hour of police trying to calm him down.. I was still very agitated. I was shaking etc and trying to get in contact with a family member (to make me feel better). 100s of neighbors were affected, as well as about 30 city/state police.

No one cared or showed compassion and just said "oh well". Then there are the people that didn't even respond to my voicemails. Do people just hate me?

Being four blocks away from a place where there is shooting does not even remotely qualify as "being in the middle of a shoot out."

Sad, no maybe a little frightened while it was occurring, but everyone has a different tolerance of these kind of things.

Not to be mean. It sounds, like it was traumatic for you, but from some of the things you say, like feeling sad, and does everyone hate me, it sounds a little like you are in need of a little extra attention and sulking a bit. Not to detract from what you experienced, but you need somone who understands you level of sensitivity to these kind of things, for allot of people this wouldn't be that big of a panic ordeal. I'm not criticizing your feelings, but you need someone who knows and understands you. You have to realize, it wasn't you who was in danger, and these things do happen more than you may know. It's not compassion or sympathy that you need, you need to calm your fears of the situation. You may come off as a little dramatic to some. It doesn't mean you weren't scared for a good reason, but it's over and you are ok. Focus on that.

And don't think hate people hate you if they don't react the way you do or would expect. You should't think that people hate you for any reason or worry about that. (Unless you are a really bad, mean person, but I doubt it)

Sweetie, people don't hate you. There is just so much of this type of thing happening. Too much exposure to violence hardens people. It's not so much that people don't care. As someone once said about Bill Clinton cheating on his wife - that is old news. It happens so often that people aren't surprised anymore. I hope you start feeling better soon. Good Luck & Blessings

Sad to Say love. But most people don't care.
Friends few and far between.
Far as the guy with the gun.
If he got killed oh well. he started it.
