Ok, speaking on behalf of the Universe (God, whatever you choose to call him, great benevolent ball of Energy etc) let me tell you that it is possible. Whatever you want, it can be yours. All you have to do is ask, believe it's possible and be grateful for it. Feel the joy of having it already.
No matter how dark things look from where you are, I promise you it will get brighter. Don't let negative forces around you affect you. Don't focus on what you don't want. There may be cruel people. Ignore them. Don't give them power over you. There will be mistakes. Don't dwell on them. Focus your attention on the beauty of life. Believe in your own power. You are a divine being. In the image of God. Your mind is a powerful tool. It creates your future. Visualize what you want your life to be. See it clearly & it will happen. Be patient. Don't lose faith. Don't give up.
No matter how impossible your dreams seem right now, I swear to you, it is possible. You only have to believe!
Peace.

Hey there, "Not that smart"your name is a little too negative! Don't be so modest. You are quite clever! & yes you're right of course. Tony Robbins was around, there have been countless self-help gurus & positive thinkers. The Secret goes back through history. Sometimes it takes just the right person at just the right time to vocalize something in just the right way and it sparks an epiphany.
Yeah, I used to collect books on positive thinking. They looked so pretty sitting on the shelf. So full of possibility. Sometimes I'd take one out & read it & it would make sense but then I wouldn't do anything that it said because it was easier to be negative, to take the path of least resistance (hey it's what most humans tend to do. People know that drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, junk food, are bad for them but it doesn't stop them from destroying themselves with their vices.)
Something about The Secret (DVD & book) just resonated with me. What the Bleep Do We Know did too. Quantum Physics.

Sometimes the truth is so simple we don't see it.
The Beatles sang "All we need is love," Jiminy Cricket sang "when you wish upon a star your dreams come true" Bobbi McFerrin sang "Don't worry be happy." The bible said "ask and you shall receive," the Emerald Tablet said "As above, so below," the genie told Aladdin "your wish is my command." The truth has always been there. Certain people understand how to harness their energy, to use their divine power. They've been trying to tell us all along but most of us ignored it.
The Secret is working for me. Once you truly understand it, it makes you want to tell others about it. But some people may not be ready to listen. Some people are too comfortable in their ruts. They don't see a way out. They live by default.
We don't have to live lives of quiet desperation. You can live a life of noisy hope. You can dare to dream. You can believe. You can create a beautiful life.
Choose to see the beauty. Choose to be happy...
:)
Peace.

The irony is that even if we can have whatever we really want, we never seem to be sure whatever that is... the moment we have it, we seem to want something more or something else.
On the other hand, can we really have whatever we want? For instance I want this answer to be chosen as the Best... will God make it happen because I really want and pray for it? I sincerely hope you are absolutely right, but time alone can prove or disprove that.
Pardon me, amp, I couldn't resist the temptation of trying to milk an opportunity!

You know... Tony Robbins has a much more complete approach to this and has been around long before certain films, touting partial science of it, came out...
Generally you're right, though not always is, what we think we want, what we will want when we know better, so be careful.
PS
Letters and symbols are not capable of being negative by themselves, only how people treat them can be. The valuation is within the intent, to go along with "As above so below" there is, "The end is in the beginning" That is the science of first principles in a nut shell, and is consummating in things like "I am the Alpha and Omega."
- Like I said I don't disagree with you, I merely try to take all roads at once to arrive at union, and not just path. I've been on "the path", and it's endless, never ending - fruition is more of "it is", than "make it so.", and that is perfect harmony without need for desire since you, have, and are. (e)Motion without Arrival is weariness at last. Use it while it is good, and you'll end up right where you belong, which is where you've always been, just maybe you didn't know it.
God bless.

All I want is to keep my contentedness. If all the world goes to war and asteroids plummet from the heavens, and fire consumes the cities and famine walks the land. If earthquakes destroy and the sky's turn dark, will you still find contentedness?
Disasters happen. Famines happen. Floods happen. Can you still find contentedness?
This is what I want. To accept the world as it is and as it will be, and still have peace of heart and mind.

Negative forces around us want to crush us bodily and spiritually into annihilation or slavery, to keep us as their hostages or to make us into their robots, and we can see that they succeed, or they just go on spreading destruction and blood in many parts of this world. Cruel, blunt nasty people are there and it is simply not possible to ignore them, not even if we were blind and totally deaf, and they want to impose on us their precedence, their terror, their ideology even legitimated by the literal reading of their old sacred texts of holy crosses or beheading swords inherited from other more primitive times of evolution, and moved by sly racistic dreams of superiority and expansion.
I want that which all individual freedom loving souls ever have wanted: I want a liberation from pain, from premature death and from enmity. I want the possibility of a fair and glowing living without having to become a sly dog or an old astute fox, without having to be involved in killing or kicking out anything or anybody.
If anyway I cannot escape this doom of "God" unto us, then I want a world without wars, a world where no people run around madly and shoot each other dead or smash each other's face or seek any whatsoever excuse to start a quarrel.
If anyway I cannot escape this doom of "God" unto us, then I want a world where I ever can speak freely without being fired from my job, a world in where I can change religion whenever I want to without risking my head or to be hanged or stoned to death, a world where I may even freely have no religion at all if that according to myself suits me best.
All these things I want, and I wish that I may freely indulge in all my own glowing dreams and reveries as much as I like. I want to ever caress all the "good" things that may corroborate the beauty of life, the dream of a glowing future. I have visions, but, alas, it is all just naive alien intoxicated pipe dream. All that which is left is to astutely try to become part of a richer community that gets more and more armed to their teeth, and to try and become more and more astute, more sly and fiercy dogs or old foxes. All this is life here, in the way that God apparently ever wanted it to express itself.
