Current scientific theory rejects the concept of either.

Light, unlike other waves, does not appear to require a medium to propagate.

For what it's worth though, the idea of either appears to have been replaced with "The space-time continuum" or space-time.

The website statement:

Is a bit of a distortion. Between Einstein & Michelson/Morley the concept of ether fell from favor. Hence the lack of dicussion.

"ether" theory became futile, after Einstein's Relativity.
