There was a question posted about topless pools in Vegas and I'm catching a flight to Vegas at 4am for a conference, so while I'm in the mood and can't sleep, I should ask ya'lls opinion about topless beaches and pools. I grew up in Sweden and all beaches are topless, nobody really cares. What's the big deal in the US? Any rambling is fine too...it's late at night...

Troll Shark: Are you flirting with me? You know I'm weak for witty men lol
I'm staying at the Wynn...I think the pools are closed by the time I'm done with work though :(

Black beach in SD? It's cool...but you know since topless beaches are so few, you always see "weird" people there...I think I'm gonna put this on my "equal rights agenda" when I get back lol

All of you need to chill out with strangers and giving out info comments. Nobody is touching me and I'm certainly safe where I'm going and what I'm doing. I'm a grown woman-thanks for your concerns.

the confusion between sexuality and nudity in America is a HUGE part of our problem. for instance, a woman can't breastfeed without men gawking at her because they see her breasts as strictly sexual and strictly a turn-on. The over-sexualization of the female body especially is a direct result of believing skin means sexiness. A woman can't even wear something comfortable without being called slutty or being seen as someone who "wants sex."
dumb.

What hotel are you staying at Lioness? I can drive there and meet you poolside, tanning oil in hand.
As a frequenter of Black's Beach (and, if you're ever on the East Coast, Sandy Hook - wow, that place is a carnival), I can say that nude scenes in the US are places to see and be seen. I'm open that way. I don't like gawking, but clever people can strike up a conversation and look all day long, and make you feel comfortable all at the same time. It's the guys with the baseball hats and the sunglasses (and the glistening erections) that scare people away - male and female.
Spent some time in Palm Springs as well. Another see and be seen scene, but definitely more subtle. Plus, no sand. The wife likes that. But either way, we're a cute couple with a exhibitionist streak, and attractive parts, so it's all good.

I don't understand it either. What's the big deal? Women have been topless at the beaches in Europe for the last 35 years and it's a big deal here. Even the Italian women are topless and this is the land where the Pop lives.

I hear you, girl. I adore topless beaches personally, but when you get there, look around first and then take off your top and enjoy it. The reason behind it is: there might be some old fashioned and simply old ladies and gentlemen sitting around the pool. They are the biggest hypocrites in the entire wide world. You don't want to hear their judgmental crap. Do you? So, look around first. Smile.

I went to the nude beach in Barcelona. A profoundly liberating experience.
I think Americans confuse sexuality with nudity. I can't explain it any straighter than that.

It's your choice. But I am not a big fan of sunbaking, it is bad for your health and the sun causes damage like cancer. Whenever I am in the sun I wear a big hat, a long sleeve shirt and long pants and sunscreen.
