If you know someone is telling you a far-fetched story.?

Do you play along with it ? Call them on it ? Say nothing? Or just ask questions? How do you react?

Sounds like one of those smile and nod moments. I have to do that otherwise I'd end up going on a huge rampage!

IF, however, you feel you need to confront the person, you could always say, "How did you get so good at fabricating stories, did it take all night, or did you just come up with that at the spur of the moment!?"

It all depends on if it's someone that i know, and i know that they all ways lying and making up far fetched story , i will call him on it right there and tell him do you ever get tied of lying.

I'd say, "Oh, Ha-Ha! You can string together the most amazing stories! You really have a gift for telling tales." They're just doing it because they need the ego feed. Don't buy into it, but make it into a joke.

Depends on the story and who's telling it! My kids know better than to lie to me. But, when other people do, I just listen and then call them on it. (unless they have some control over my job!)

It depends on who it is. Normally, I have no problem calling them on it. However, if I am in a social situation (i.e., over at a friend's house, and the person is thier boss...), I use the appropriate discretion.

I think I'd make them go in to great detail... then ask them the same question later in the convo... of course I'd go along with it... and then when he/she starts to choke! I'd laugh and nod in disappointment ..lol

well.......... my reaction and course of action will depend on these
1. how well i know the person
2. what the topic is
3.how important this person is to me
4. whether the story is logical
