He plays for the Bears. It must read somewhere in the team charter: "We will never have a quality starting quarterback."

Except for Jim McMahon. He was great--but for such a brief time.

Last year the Bears owner knew that Grossman was a sub par QB. Yet the owner did not seek a quality QB in the off season so again the team is stuck with him. The scouts should be fired for having a thought he wouls be a first round draft pick. He is poor in every aspect of the game. No speed, no line of vision, and photographs his passes. How they made it to the superbowl was with defense. This year last place with Grossman. He is pathetic at best and should be cut from the team. Why is he still the QB - the same old politically correct B.S. No one will say you suck Grossman go to Burger King and flip burgers.

Cause of the managerial staff.

The management doesnt want to have a losing season, and they want the best players to play every game. Griese did go to a pro-bowl, but the coaches decide during the training camps, pre-season games, and practices every week who will be starting.

If Grossman beats out Orton and Griese every week in practice, beats them in pre-season play, and in training camp, Just imagine how bad Griese and Orton look.

Only thing it seems the bears can do at the moment is hopefully try to find a replacement through a trade soon (they passed on Leftwich) and start getting him settled in their system ASAP. Bears are going to have a long season. Hopefully they can pick up one of these QB's off free-agency next year -

Tony Romo (I seriously doubt Cowboys are going to let him go. Im almost positive they will slap a "FRANCHISE" tag on him)

Josh McCown (he is a risky QB, but the best option NEXT YEAR for the bears, they should push to get him in my opinion!!)

Ken Dorsey -Cleveland Browns
Ryan Fitzpatrick - Cincinnati Bengals
Drew Henson - Minnesota Vikings
Cleo Lemon - Miami Dolphins
Jared Lorenzen -New York Giants
Jamie Martin -New Orleans Saints
Jim Sorgi - Indianapolis Colts

Only 4 of those QB's I can see doing better then Grossman in the Bears system and thats Jim Sorgi, Drew Henson, Ryan Fitzpatrick and JOSH McCown.

Good luck Bears fans, its going to be a long season for you guys in the QB position.

put Griese in. give him a chance
Grossman had plenty and still throws into double coverage like its no big deal.. through it away or even take the sack! stop throwing INTO's!
and that's exactly what it is, basically everyone else on the bears are doing a decent job with the exception of berrian who dropped a couple OFF HIS CHEST... but when it comes down to it in baseball terms... the L goes to grossman

Probably he got hurt his first couple of years and didn't get a fair shake. Lovie probably thought that the defense was going to carry the team as long as he didn't turn over the ball. They should have kept Jones to handle the carries. I never liked Rex when he played at UF. He doesn't have a strong arm like Farve to make tight window throws.

Because the Bears have a long history of having only worthless QB's. If they somehow got a real NFL caliber QB they would probably trade him for a lineman.

Because he can't play defense, anyway the bears are not going anywhere, they are a mediocre team that played in a weak division last year, but this year is different, the Packers have improved and so have the Vikings and Lions, the Bears won't even win their division this year

Because he's the best option the Bears have however sad that fact may be. I think they would be better off picking a random fan from the stands though.

He's not. Smith might make a ploy, and give Gross man ONE more start....But don't be surprised if Griese starts Sunday
