sometime in October.

The iMacs will have Leopard at the same time as the release.

Apple announced in April that OS 10.5 (Leopard) would be delayed until October because they pulled many design engineers from the Leopard project to get the iPhone finished and released at the perfect moment. Now those engineers are back on the Leopard project and it appears to be on for October release.

Having worked for Apple for several years, I can assure you that most but not necessarily all Macs will be shipped with Leopard the same day Leopard is released. Don't buy a Mac online the first day of Leopard's release even if a sales person assures you it will have Leopard. Wait a week or two to be sure the last of the 10.4 Macs have cleared the pipeline.
