Get a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol clean around that stuck key. Chances are, there is some gunk on your keyboard. If this doesn't work, at least try a computer repair shop. Keyboard problems are usually easy to resolve, and much less expensively than having to buy a new laptop.

If you hit a function key (i.e. shift, ctrl, alt, etc.) five times in a row, sticky key will be activated by default on many laptops. This function keeps the key activated to allow for one button function activation. Not entirely sure about disabling it, but try hitting the shift key five times in a row again.

That isn't a fault is a feature that you accidental turned on.

Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Utility Manager
and try to turn it off from there. If you do a reboot it might fix the problem as well.
