HAYDEE SANTA MARIA

She was a revolutionary from the very early days, and participated together with Fidel Castro in the famous storming of the Moncada barracks, where she lost both her brother and her boyfriend. Powerful chick!

She was dedicated to the revolutionary cause and fought together with Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

When Batista was finally overthrown, She was made President of La Casa de las Americas (the House of the Americas), which she in effect founded.

Sadly she committed suicide, in 1980, but because my dad was also very much apart of that revolution, he named me after her!..... Whats even scarier is that I see the similarities. well w/o the suicide that is

Hasta la victoria siempre!

Yep. When my mother was pregnant she let my one brother pick a girls name and the other brother pick a boys name. The one brother picked the neighbor girls first name (he had a crush on her). The other brother said "Joey fart face!"
