On the August 20 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, discussing comments made by White House senior adviser Karl Rove about Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY), Rush Limbaugh claimed that "nobody criticizes Hillary. ... Well, you might say, 'No, Michelle Obama and Mrs. Edwards are out there criticizing her,' but, see, I finally figured this one out, too. You can't hit the girl. You just -- you can't hit the girl."

He added: "But the drive-bys" -- a term Limbaugh uses to denote the mainstream media -- "aren't taking that seriously, because Hillary's the inevitable candidate."

Hmm I thought Hillary was criticized quite a bit, do you think Clinton isn't being critized since "she's a girl"? Why or Why not? http://mediamatters.org/items/200708210002

I think guys will tend to think she gets off easy, while girls will tend to think she's getting raked over the coals.

Who knows for sure. I think it's better to ignore political pundits altogether, and make your own decisions without the assistance of used car salesmen with an agenda.

I just wish the rest of the country did the same.

I agree with the others, Rush has seen his day. Even in his day almost everyone could agree he's a meanie. Remember when he called Hilary's daughter (a child at the time) unattractive? What kind of person does that?

He compares with some of the other posters on here (not the ones answering this question) who are so obviously just posting anti-woman BS due their own prejudices or grudges. (Maybe Mommy didn't love them.)

Hilary Clinton has been roughly criticized since she became first lady way back when. She's been raked over the coals so many times, she should be fire proof by now.

I still think of her as the only person in the government who cared if I had health insurance. I will be voting for her if he's nominated.

I am afraid the others are right: Rush is not a legitimate source nor should you really waste time with him. There's just too much out there.

The MSM crtiize Hilliary in the most disgusting ways. I was watching Chris Mathews and all the reporters there pretended to gag when they heard her clips, reported that she was 'cold', 'not funny'. None of them even tried to figure out her policies or criticize her record in the senate, and few quoted the fact that she won the senate in heavily republican districts that voted for Bush in the previous election, and that she is very popular. They hate Hilliary the way the hate Gore - simple personal stuff. It is this kind of juvenile behavior which leads to presidents like Bush, who these idiots said 'they would rather drink a beer with'. It is truly disgusting to call yourself a journalist and be so ignorant.

That old bloviator is pulling stuff out of his rear end again. Hillary is criticised alot, but oxycontin brain doesn't care, because all he wants to do is is be the first to do what he says isn't being done - "swift-boat" Hillary...

Hillary's the "inevitable candidate" in his mind because Rush wants the Democratic Party to lose in 2008, and he thinks she's the most vunerable - he's wrong!

For decades before Clinton won the Presidency, the GOP believe they owned the office. They were shocked when they lost twice to Clinton. So, they have been making a monumental effort to destroy Clinton in the hope it is his charisma alone that won him the office. Hillary is an innocent bystander, but because she is associated with Bill, the attacks on Bill rub off on Hillary.

The Bill-haters believe they are being effective when they attack both Clintons relentlessly. What they succeed in doing is to solidify their base, but they make few converts. The GOP is in danger of having all their vitriol backfire when it is directed at Hillary.

The number of people who won't vote for a women is diminishing as the geezers die off. Fortunately for Hillary, the men (and women) who won't vote for a woman for President, wouldn't vote for any Democrat. So, there is no net loss.

In his heyday, he was on television. I used to take a look at the audience cutaways -- white men, almost no women. He called feminists feminazis. The problem with that is that many Republican women are feminists. Many men are embarrassed to be associated with other men who see the expansion of women's rights as threatening to them.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. Hillary gets criticized all the time. Oh, and she's a WOMAN, not a girl.

Rush Limbaugh is a moron. He is to the right what Al Franken or Cindy Sheehan is to the left: an embarrassment.
Hillary has been criticized plenty. I happen to agree with a lot of it, but for Rush to claim it hasn't happened is idiotic.

I think she'll be criticized more, partly because she's a woman, but mostly because she's a questionable person and politician. But, I think she'd make an extremely shrewd politician, which has many benefits.

Rush is an idiot.

Hillary is perhaps the most criticized presidential hopeful we've ever had. People bash her for marrying Bill, staying with Bill, the way she looks, the way she talks, the way she votes . . .

Rush really has his head up his as s.

I don't agree with a lot of her politics, but I think it's more so by the general public. You know if Bush or Limbaugh said it, it can't be true.
