I have heard this a few times and I've always heard that it's a "tradition" but no one seems to know why one does it. Please explain.

In life Jim was known as the "Lizard King".
People relieve themselves on his grave as a crude joke, ie;
to "drain the lizard".

A friend and I were stationed in Germany in the mid 1980's and we went to check out Jim Morrison's grave.

Its at the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Trust me when I say that the whole graveyard smelled like piss! The truth is the Frogs(french) are some of the nastiest mother-porkers in Europe. They piss on Every street so I don't think its meant as personal to Morrison.

Though a large area of the Pere Lachaise Cemetery was rather odoriferous, I didn't notice the smell at Morrison's grave, but there was a lot of graffiti. It surprised me that Oscar Wilde's grave had not been defaced at all, but then, it is Paris.
