funny that I cant get an answer from anyone with an IQ over 60!! The mayans knew everything when it came to astrology and there calender was based on it. Cooincidentally it is the same day for an allignment with the center of the milky way,and we will thrust to the other side of our known galaxy! scientist Scientists believe this may cause A pole shift, they also think it may suck earth through another dimention, somehow crossing the center of the galaxy is very important to the planets physiology!! Matter becomes anti matter,a complete alternate reality with new visions and ne life, the mayans called it an end to an age!!! The begining of something new!!!!

Well, my iq is more than twice 60 and I'm going to tell.you that the Mayan calendar doesn't end on 12-21-2012. The Long Count calendar rolls from Baktun 12 to Baktun 13 on that date, but that's not an end. It can go up to Baktun 19, and even then (in the year 4770+), it doesn't end, it goes to Pictun 1 (! Pictun=20 Baktuns. 1 Baktun=~400 years).
As far as the galactic alignment causing a pole shift, that was supposed to happen with the alignment of 05-05-2000, when all the planets were in a line on the other side of the sun from Earth, and it didn't. This 12-21-2012 alignment is purely visual--the sun crossing the center of the milky way at dawn--no gravitation pull or anything that would make the poles shift.
As far as the Mayan knowing "everything" about astrology, that is not exactly true. And the Long Count is not an astrological calendar. The sacred 260-day calendar (The Tzolkin) is the astrological one, and that never ends, just runs in an endless loop.

the better Mayan type ( those with maximum expertise) disappears. it is a secret. The Mayan prophecy about 2012 as of the extra understanded human beings in worry-free words marks a replace. yet what replace might want to? Our ideas might want to create any idea lets imagine on that. yet all and distinct have imagine that what meaning is they arrive decrease back from the position the position they're, the position they pass?. some human beings reported that they pass to a special length. Its plausible?

There aren't any Mayans left to start the next one on 22/12/2012 so you'll just have to use the calendar hanging on your wall.

By the way, the Calenders were mendicant dervishes from Turkey and Persia, not Mayan.

When the Mayan calendar ends, the Mayans will switch over to the Gregorian calendar like everybody else.

Once the day passes? The Mayans will wake up to the first Saturday of winter (or summer, for those down under).

And so will everybody else.

The Sun will rise, the Sun will set.
Your significant other will ask you if you want coffee with your Danish or English muffin.
You'll live another day in your life.

Remember: Every breath you take leaves you one less to your last.

Have a Nice Day.
