Whistle outside because it's the "outdoor" thing to do.
Hum in the bathroom, because of those great acoustics!

I've never been able to whistle so that I don't do that, sometimes I hum even when I'm not doing housework, sometimes I hum when I'm answering questions!!

I whistle very often not just doing housework. It's fun and I do it quite well. Humming I do much less.

This reminds me of a song from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." I don't like to whistle, I like to listen to music.

Sometimes I hum, but I mostly like to listen to the "Arena Rock" channel on my digital cable and sing along to it.

OK, you have to promise not to tell anyone......When I am alone doing housework, I put on really LOUD rock music, and dance while I vacuum or dust, if it's "Heart" I'm playing, I may even sing along. My 15 year old daughter walked in on me last weekend and I thought she was going to die with embarrassment
