Cericket is given more importance infact only cricket is given importance in comparison to other sports. We just won NEhru Cup for the first time after beating Korea. OUr women hockey team is also doing wonders. BUt all Sops and coverage to cricket only. What as a citizen can we do about it.

I agree with you. I am against this biased attitude of our sports administrations & our people too.
I give same importance to a hockey player & a cricketer but the two get different treatment from the big boss people.

Every sport shud be given equal priority...
This hapens only when people start giving imp to these sports as they do to cricket.& also by media ,sponsors
To have their support these sports shud have some good victories..
I think in upcoming days hockey will make a good mark..they r really doing well..

For popularity of any game support of sponsors and media is required. Since cricket is generating more revenues as compared to all other swwports, media and sponsors are supporting cricket the most and as such it has become most popular in India. The moment sponsors and media start supporting other sports they will also become popular.

definetly yes.....
as our others sports teams are not able make a mark in their field.
if we will think about hockey, we were the ruled the hockey fo 30 years,but we are nowhere now.we are just strugglng to qualify for olympic....
my dear friend a game is glorified by achievement of players.
as in last few years we excelled in tenis,shooting,golf etc and we can see now lots of new talent is coming.
every leader found their followers...
we hav 150th rank in football,we play pathetic football,even you think people will follow them..
dont be amazed bye the small wins...
believe me if india will just qualify for world cup,the whole sports entertainment and passion will change drastically....
