I used to own an '01 prelude. Well if fuel costs the issue it says right on the gauge premium fuel only because it is a high performance 4 cylinder motor and if u continually put regular fuel it will damage it over time. and if its a fuel efficient, well i don't remember exactly how many miles per gallon but I was getting a good 250 miles per tank driving normally that is. But it's an awesome car, I would of never got rid of it, but I totalled it cuz of snow. well good luck

No it's not. Prelude packs a powerful engine under it's hood and the car is heavy itself. It's slow from 0 - 30 but after that you can't catch it. Bottom line is bad on fuel efficiency.

it's not the most efficient honda 4 cylinder by any means, but it's still respectable. what sux is that it drinks premium. if you want optimal fuel efficiency, go for a civic. while the prelude won't break your wallet, it wouldn't be a top choice if fuel efficiency is the most important thing to you.

I additionally own a 2001 Honda Prelude and could rather die than placed something below ninety 3 octane in it. i assume up there in Northern California all you get is ninety one, yet it incredibly is okay too. Your motor, the H22A4, has a distinctly extreme compression ratio whilst in comparison with maximum automobiles. it incredibly is how that's waiting to make only in need of 100hp/Liter. Your 240SX regrettably adequate makes use of a KA24DE motor it incredibly is probable extra perfect perfect for a compact truck than a sporty vehicle. now not a very screamer of a motor, 89 could be large in a vehicle like that. in case you propose on driving your Prelude with any form of energy, in any different case you could prefer to "haul ***" in case you will, i could follow the ninety one octane you utilize now. You run the prospect of detonation at extreme engine speeds with the lesser gas nonetheless. So in case you have been to apply the 89 muck then you incredibly would desire to attempt to maintain your engine speeds (RPMs) down, and stay outta VTEC!

yes their pretty good on gas, well over 25 all the time, sometimes better than 30+ on the road ,depending how well its tuned and how your driving it,but they are good on gas, probably one of the best,on gas there is,there's other cars that will get better ,but that one is really cheap to operate, good luck with it.
