i went into my c drive, under local / temp and saw sqm files, do i need these? what are they, can i just rid?

of these? they are in the temp folder, so imagine so, but what really would be the worst case scenario if i deleted these .sqm files. one file is "wmplog18.sqm", i just want my c drive not to be cluttered and for the computer to run fast. thanks.

If you use MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger - these files are generated by these programs.
They are necessary - do not delete them.
