You don't need to factor this to find the vertex. The derivative is 2x - 6. This = 0 when x = 3; that is the x-coordinate of the vertex. Replace x with 3 in the function and find 3^2 - 6*3 +10 = 1; that is the y-coordinate of the vertex.

i hope factor means simplify
find the lcm in x^2-6x+10. it is 1.
so try two numbers
x^2 and -6x
the lcm is x
(x(x-6))+10
