Where were the neo-cons to cry-me-a-river over the poor people that were being killed by Saddam while being good friends with Reagan and Rumsfeld?

He was seen as better than the Iranian ayatollahs.Typical American foreign policy. An enemy of an enemy is my friend even if he's a brutal murderer.
Some people have their time line wrong.Saddam gassed Kurds in the eighties during the conflict with Iran not after the first gulf war.
America did fail to protect the Shiites who answered a call to overthrow Saddam from Bush Sr after the Kuwait liberation but Saddam didn't use chemical weapons then.

The famous handshake and sit down between Rumsfield and Saddam was the same day the UN published a report about Saddam using Chemical weapons.

I believe that was because after the Gulf War when Bush Sr., knew he could not march on to Iraq told the Kurds to rise against Saddam and we ( meaning the US) will help you failed to help them as promised. Saddam gassed by the thousands in retaliation for their daring to rise against him. Interesting how the war supporters are able to take this incident and turn around and using it as an excuse for justifying the war. We apparently must go to war to right the wrong we committed while they refuse to admit that we did anything wrong.
