So I just started "Doche" and I heard that it was really good, so that's why I started. But now I was reading and it is actually really bad for you. Can anyone please tell me the benifits for doing this? And how often you should use it? Also I heard to just use water every day? Thanks

they say it's bad for you because your body is "self cleaning", but that's not always true. Sometimes it needs a little help. Once a week would be ok, but plain water isn't enough - add a little apple vinegar to keep the Ph balance correct and prevent infections.
Don't do it every day, thats too much. But do Shower every day, and keep all the folds and crevices clean and sweet.

As a healthcare provider I'm assuming you are speaking of 'douche'. Regular douching is not recommended. There is no need and can actually lead to infections. Your vagina is designed to care for itself adequately. You should have some small ammount of vaginal discharge daily.....that's your body's way of keeping it clean. This discharge should not have an odor, or be alot in quanity. It is usually somewhat clear and a little white. The quanity and thickness will change depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle. I cannot think of a benefit to doing this. Although, I will admit that sometimes it feels cleaner after having sex to rinse out a little with warm water. But this is not a birth control method.....it doesn't work for that.

Many health care professionals state that douching is dangerous, as it interferes with both the vagina's normal self-cleaning and with the natural bacterial culture of the vagina, and it might spread or introduce infections. For example, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services strongly discourages douching, warning that it can lead to irritation, bacterial vaginosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease. Frequent douching with water may result in an imbalance of the pH of the vagina, and thus may put women at risk for possible vaginal infections, especially yeast infections.

Antiseptics may also result in an imbalance of the natural bacteria in the vagina, also resulting in an increased likelihood of infection.Furthermore, unclean douching equipment may also introduce undesirable foreign bodies into the vagina. For these reasons, the practice of douching is now strongly discouraged except when ordered by a physician for specific medical reasons. Douching may also wash bacteria into the uterus and Fallopian tubes, causing fertility problems.

Never, ever, douche unless under medical direction (and even then, question it!).

Douching today is virtually only a major preoccupation in America, like bleaching one's teeth and having cosmetic surgery. Be happy with your body! Keep your labia clean by all means (water on its own is the best option) but don't in any way believe that the natural odor of your vaginal area is 'wrong' or 'not nice'. It actually turns on male and female lovers!

It's bad.. stirs up bacteria and actually pushes germs and toxins in as opposed to cleaning them out. My Doctor claims that is is best to cleanse yourself with water and a non irritating soap.. the soap should not go in you though

You should NEVER douche. It throws off your vagina's PH balance (even water throws it off). Plus it washes away the good bacteria, which then invites the bad bacteria into your system.

you heard wrong. douching can irritate your vagina, causing it to dry out and make you more vulnerable to infections. there aren't any benifits other than a different smell. your body cleans your vagina its self, so there's really no sense in doing yourself with with foreign materials.
