I suppose that this is pretty much public knowledge, although some people use their birthplace as a security question for financial accounts. However, for it to be useful, one has to know what the accounts are in the first place, so I guess the risk is minimal.

I was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, in the middle of coal country in the Appalachian Mountains. I was there a whole two days before my parents brought me home from the hospital to Haysi, Virginia, not far across the state line. It used to be weird as some of my cousins that lived nearby were born in Virginia, so I was technically a Yankee in the midst of Rebels. (I guess they didn't realise that the Civil War was over.) :-)

I lived in the same house my whole childhood, and my mother still lives there. Actually, it was a flat underneath the restaurant that my parents operated. When I went to university, it was an hour away, so I often spent weekends back home, especially early on and not quite as much as I progressed to my degree.

After graduating, I moved to the Lafayette, Indiana, area to attend graduate school. I've moved around from flat to flat a few times, but always in the general area. That's where I am now. The end. :-)
