If you only did it this once and not again for a good while i could almost guarantee it would be fine either type of turtle. Because if you look at reviews and reptile websites, feeding water turtles 3 to 4 times a week once a day (rule of thumb, a meal totaling the size of the turtles head and neck) is the most popular feeding method. because in captivity the turtle doesnt have to chase his food and after he gets use to you he will never again engage in strenuous activities like they do in the wild when hunting. and if its a water turtle fish a few fish in the tank would work pretty well cause he probably wont catch all in one day thus feeding himself over the week. hope this helps.

You don't say what kind of turtle you have. Is it a turtle or tortoise? Most would do well for a week without food. You can feed your turtle well before you leave, then feed well when you get back. Since the weather is turning cooler, turtles and tortoises will be going into hibernation. If it is a Red Earred Slider turtle, the feeding will be reduced with the cooler weather. Box Turtles also slow down with the cooler weather. Either way, you should be just fine.

If you're worried, just feed them heavier than normal before you leave to put a little body fat on them. And then turn off any heat lamps and water heaters. This will cool it down and make them sleep more, as well as slowing down their metabolism. Many aquatic turtles hibernate, and can go months without food during cold weather. A week will definitely be fine, so you don't need a pet sitter.

If it's not a baby, you should be able to feed it well before you leave, make sure lights are on timers, and he should be fine until you get back. You might want a friend to stop in and take a look at him every day just to make sure things are OK.

I do not know what type of turtle you have but most need to be fed every day. Have a friend or pet sitter come by every day to feed.
