I found a little surprise earlier this evening when cleaning, and when getting rid of the rotten fruit, it spilled some kind of juice on the floor, and now it smells. It's an annoying bannana smell, but I still don't like it. What can I do to start getting rid of this smell tonight?
Thanks

When you say baking soda, what would I do with it? Just sit it out like in a fridge or what?
Sorry, I'm a cleaning novice.

Forget baking soda - leave that for cooking. For eliminating the odor without the mess or fragrances and irritants, here's an inexpensive and fragrance free product that is FANTASTIC that I use and know so many other people that use it including in dorm rooms!! It is a natural fragrance free carbon product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers -little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is great and eliminates odors for a long time. It works so much better than all those sprays, gels and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Just place one or two (or three) around room and forget about it. No spills or chemicals or powder to worry about. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good and I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. I also know you can buy direct easily within just a few days -customerservice@innofresh.com...
Definitely worth trying

Mix some vanilla extract or even a few drops of your perfume with some baking soda. The mixture should still be dry and powdery, not wet and pasty.

Pour this mixture on the area with the odor. Allow it to sit overnight and vaccuum or sweep it up. Stick a saucer of vinegar with a few drops of lemon on your table to absorb the rest of the odors in the room from the spill. I keep a deep saucer of vinegar with lemon in it around all the time to keep the room smelling fresh. I put some stones in the dish and call it a decoration. Actually, it looks great and is functional, too!

Take a small bowl or a saucer, and place a slice of bread soaked in white vinegar in it. Leave it near the area from which the odour is emanating. Change the slice every day until the small is gone.

blot the liquid up with a paper towel and dispose.. Wet a washcloth and use a tiny bit of shampoo to wash the stained area.... Rinse area with water and let dry... If it still smells, sprinkle with baking soda and vacuum of in the morning..

clean it and disposed of what you used to clean it with of course, never use air freshener just makes it worse, light a strong candle or more spray lysol disinfectant spay in the ac vent I recomend mountain or after the rain scent it leaves the air smelling clean and spraying it into the vent makes it last long with out the over-powering smell plus it disinfects
