If I am planning to major in one area and minor in a completely different area, will i still get a Bachelors in each area? How does that work?

No, you will not. Bachelor's degrees are only awarded to major areas, which demonstrate significant coursework and advanced knowledge in the major area. As a minor requires less coursework, and will assuredly not require a thesis, it does not qualify for a degree. The only way to receive a Bachelors in both areas is to double major.
