The two Entamoeba species are more closely related because they are in the same genus.

The Escherichia coli is in a different genus.

It's like this, only we do human names backwards.
Which of these people are more closely related?
John Brown
Steve Green
Steve Brown

The two Browns are more closely related because they have the same last name. The first name doesn't matter as much.

In scientific names it's the other way around. The genus name is like a person's last name. The species name is like a person's first name. It would be like saying - which are more closely related: Brown, John; Green, John; Brown, Steve
