Not really. Sure, a lot of other countries have less perks. But there are some details that irk me.
1.) Gay people don't get equal rights.
2.) Restrictive laws on the wrong things, officers not paying enough attention to the real problems. (where I live at least)
3.) If you look at it technically, no country with a government is free.

TANSTAAFL:There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch -Robert Heinlein.
America grants you quite a bit of liberty, but there is always a price. You are expected to pay taxes, help defend the country in times of war, obey the laws and a few other things as a citizen.
However, due to the PATRIOT Act, a lot of America's freedoms have been held hostage. Private conversations are being recorded without a warrant is only the begining of the rights Americans have given up.

America is free to a certain extent, thus if we break the law we get punished. If we put others at risk or threat somebody we get in trouble with the law. Not only that but America is free because alot of young men and women and older men and women risk there lives everyday to keep this country free. I am talking about our military, police, firefighters cia, fbi but mainly the military. These young men and women go over to a place they never been before, and fight to help our country remain free. The Iraq war has cost us 3,797 lives not including other countries soldiers and victims of 9/11.
So freedom is not exactly free because they leave there families to fight for our country while we gripe about money and what kind of car we have as what we need to be thankful is for the people who risk their lives for us. That is what we need to appreciate and understand that we live free because of them.

If some dictator from Iran can come here to shoot off his foul mouth and actually have the guts to request a visit to Ground Zero, you bet America is free!
For those of you who don't understand or take this country for granted, shame on you!
For those of you, especially those of you Hollywood types (yeah, I am speaking to those of you like Alec Baldwin), you said you'd leave the country and move to, what, France if George Bush was elected, why are you still here?

It may be more free than other countries but we are losing more liberty every day. The founders are rolling in their graves. I'm disgusted with the total corruption of our politicians and the ignorance and disregard of what's happening by the voters and citizens. The future of this country looks pretty bleak in a lot of ways from where I'm standing. We are going to be in for a very rude awakening in the not too far distant future.

America use to be a free country with the government responsible to the people you know majority rule now we have evidence that is no longer the case. Case in point the american people have spoken on the issue of amensty for illegals it is a no go but the government does not listen to the people they keep trying at every turn to make amensty a rule of law we aren't free now when you are ruled by fear such as the fear of a terrorist attack you are not free you are in bondage

It is more free in some ways than most -- but much less free than we used to be 10 or 20 or 50 years ago -- and much less free than the Founders intended.
Power corrupts -- and our govt has seized power, and intends to keep it regardless of the consequences to the citizens.

NO WAY. The USA is an evil and UNHOLY union of fully-militarized, quasi-totalitarian POLICE STATES.
Think...
War on Drugs
War on Terror
...scams devised to instill fear in the masses in order to give up their once-sacred liberty and rights to privacy--let alone FORSAKE THE CONSTITUTION.
p/s The organization noted below was "founded in response to the growing concern that noncompliance with the Constitution for the United States of America and most state constitutions is creating a crisis of legitimacy that threatens freedom and civil rights."

Tis free if you are rich and powerful, but see how quickly a protest and grass roots organization gets busted up by the FBI if they try for real change.
