I have been having trouble with my computer turning itself off. It does this all of the time. It is not a heating issue. i have talked to a lot of different people from msn, verizon, emachines and microsoft. they all told me to try something different and none of it worked. nobody can seem to help me figure out the problem. i have windows xp. i would really appreciate any advice. thanks

How old is the cpu?
How do you know it is not a heating issue if you have not told us that you have actually removed the processer chip fan and cleaned the actual coolant unit?
How many sticks of ram are in it and are they the same speed?
I have more questions but lets start there ok?

The CPU might be getting too hot and shutting down.
Your case may be suffering from poor ventilation. There may be too little cool air entering the case; perhaps heated air is not being exhausted adequately; perhaps incoming air is bypassing the CPU cooler The heat sink might need re-applying some arctic silver on it.

Do you have the power saving feature turned on causing the computer to go into hibernation?
