The US has lost more than that. Because of our disastrous venture in Iraq, our global influence WORLDWIDE has been on a rapid decline.

Besides, why is it the military's job to hunt down terrorists in foreign countries? Can't these countries deal with their own problems?

Shouldn't we be using our might to protect ourselves at home--and in the case of a natural disaster like Katrina--instead of playing World Police?

No -- if we had actually pursued the terrorists who had attacked us -- that would not have made us look bad.

What made us look bad -- and cost us legitimacy -- is using our military force to attack people who had not attacked us -- solely because we didn't like them.
