I agree with some of the others...as the quilt is a wonderful way of preserving the t-shirts. You can also use the quilt as a wall hanging if you don't want to use it as a quilt. You don't have to put batting in the middle if you don't want but, if you decide to use a batting read carefully because, some batting is designed to shrink by 10% to give a quilt more of an old feel right away...and for a t-shirt memory quilt this may be undesirable.
I don't agree on tying the quilt every two feet or so apart. I would make the ties closer together...at least every corner of the square...You would probably want to make the squares 12 inches remember to cut 12.5 by 12.5 to be able to take a quarter inch seam allowance and still have a 12 inch block. If the designs are different sizes you can still make the quilt...it is just harder but, can be done. If you don't use batting then you have what is traditionally considered "summer weight" quilt. If you are going to hang the quilt up then I would probably use a batting of some sort to "stiffen" up the quilt. Also, don't think you have to use traditional batting. I have used simply a piece of thick white flannel as a batting before, or a wool blanket, but, I live in a cold climate so I want my quilts to be warm. The back can also be pieced as well.
Alternately you can cut the designs out and put them on streachers and hang them up as art.
You can also make them into pillows. Which tend to be pretty cute, especailly if you just close off the arm holes and neck stuff it and then close the bottom.

T-shirt quilts are very easy to make, even for a beginner. There are many how-to sites on the web in many different techniques. The one thing I would suggest is to leave out the batting though. The fusible interfacing doesn't breathe very well, and the added weight of the batting frequently makes the quilt practically unuseable unless you live in the Arctic!
Another easy way is to use a quilt-as-you-go method with a fleece backing. Simply decide on a standard size for your blocks, fuse the t-shirts as described in the regular instructions and cut the fused t-shirts and fleece blocks the same size. Stitch a big X from corners to corners on each block. Place 2 blocks fleece side together and stitch the side seam to attach the blocks together. Most people put the seams to the t-shirt side of the quilt so they aren't against their skin when they're under the quilt. The side seams can also be zig-zag stitched together, butted together, or satin stitched. No tying needed and the quilting is done on each block before assembly so no wrestling a heavy quilt through the sewing machine.
You can also use this method with t-shirts on both sides, instead of fleece on the back, if you have enough shirts.

I had my grandmother turn my massive collection of shirts from plays/musicals into a quilt. It was super easy (I could have done it myself if I had the time). It is by far my favorite quilt- super comfy tshirt material makes it great to cozy up with. It's a "hand tied" quilt which means that it's tied down every two feet or so. If you are without any sewing ability it might be better to ask around (senior centers, quilt shops, etc) for someone to hire. Otherwise, get a roller cutter, metal ruler, and cutting mat. Cut the shirt designs into squares (make each square equal size, duh). Use the back of the shirt for the back side of the quilt unless you have enough shirts to cover both sides. You can either sew each square together (easy version) or cut strips to place between each square (harder version). Again, tshirts make the best quilts and they always start a conversation going whenever I take them out. Hope this helps!

And for the checklist, i like the scent of cows and horses. it rather is fairly diverse, yet i think of it rather is great!! And, I even have heard the bathing room one approximately the two cows and horses. It doesnt hardship me, gross, perchance, besides the shown fact that it purely happens...it rather is organic, and it regularly doesnt scent...Plus, while i became youthful I used to %. up dried cow patties each and all the time and throw them, that's form of gross, and individuals suggested so, besides the shown fact that it never rather afflicted me. It nonetheless doesnt, truthfully, as long as this is dried. Edit: whether, unquestionably, while i became in Colorado, we went to considered one of those path journey issues (i understand, genuine cool). yet what afflicted me is that I even have ridden until eventually now, purely the place I stay, and there became a family participants of three there, a mom, dad, and little son. They have been from Chicago, and have been speaking approximately how they took all forms of classes and knew all those issues. it rather is mean, yet i presumed it became humorous..the guy had to yell at them lots because of the fact they didnt rather understand very lots (I didnt the two...yet I knew adequate, i assume). it rather is probable a median tale...yet for some reason it made me experience a *little* better approximately myself....i'm undesirable, i assume.
