I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what you're saying. But if you're saying that because of freedoms we have become a nation of lazy, irresponsible, greedy people, I agree. It's sad. Back in the 50's people cared about their neighbors and would go out of their way to help someone else. Some people say we have progressed, I disagree. We have regressed.

I respect your opinion as we are all entitled to have one. The only "Statement" I will make is that we "ARE" a damn good country. The rest is simply my opinion. We DO NOT have too much freedom. We are simply slaves to our Government. We work and they profit from our wages. I suppose they call it social security. Why don't you ask you parents or Grandparents how well this system has worked for them or better yet...ask yourself, if God forbid you ever need it. What we can do today is to actually, think about ourselves and our futures and really ask that question..."WHATS WRONG WITH AMERICA???"

That's America in a nutshell. We only care about me, myself and I. It's gotten really pathetic, actually. I agree with the too much freedom to some extent, although I think most of our "true" freedom is smoke-screened and limited. Like the reason why we're STILL in Iraq...but don't want to pollute everyone with my government-hating ideals. Isn't that how it is in America today. We'll claim that we have our own ideas and opinions but when things start to go hectic, we all follow like ignorant lambs to the slaughter.

I disagree -- the problem is not that we have too much freedom -- and as a point in fact, we have much less now than we did 20 years ago, or 50 years ago.
The problem is that people abuse the rules -- whether freedom or restriction or whatever -- and I will grant that the problem arises because people have no regard for the consequences of their actions.
But that's not a problem with too much freedom -- it's a problem with people not caring about each other.

DO YOU REALLY WANT TO Know whats wrong w/ America???
We have TOO much FREEDOM ???? Nope. Truth is we take “FREEDOM” for granted.
Truth is, the average American today expects to much without “paying the dues”.
The last two generations have never had to sacrifice. TELL ME WHAT YOU CAN'T BUY............???
I MEAN WHAT IS NOT AVAILABLE..........
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE FOR?
WHAT DO YOU NEED RATION STAMPS FOR?
EVER ASKED TO GROW A “VICTORY GARDEN”?
NEVER BEFORE IN OUR HISTORY HAVE GOODS AND SERVICES BEEN SO AVAILAVBLE AND AFFORDABLE.

I believe it to be a lack of self discipline.
And Cinner, come to my neck of the woods. When we get hit with hurricanes, we still check on our neighbors. We don't wait for the government to come "rescue" us.
