Do I have to order a Dell mouse for a Dell computer? I've heard that only Dell products will work on Dell computers. Is this so? Help please!!!! Mouse trouble is bad trouble.

Any Mouse will do.
When you REMOVE the plug, if it is ROUND, then get a PS/2 Mouse. If it is a USB connector, then get a USB mouse.
I do recommend that you get a Wired and not Wireless mouse. Wireless are more trouble.
I do recommend that you get an Optical mouse. This uses LIGHT, instead of that ball that gets dirty.

I have a dell computer that is also about 2 years old. I replaced my wirless mouse with one I found at staples. All you have to do is go buy a new mouse at an office supply store. Install the cd (if there is one , newer models are coming without a cd all you have to do is skip this step) that is included then after you have completed that plug in the mouse and unplug your old one.

Mice are pretty much standard across the board, no special formats for Dells or any other brands. Optical is definately a good idea over the old ball style, and the best is Laser if you can find it.
As for wireless, Dan is about 5 years behind in that area, name brand wireless mouses of today work flawlessly, if you can afford the extra money, it's a very nice feature to have.

Just buy any generic mouse. Anything will work. The only thing you have to decide between is PS/2 or USB (or serial... haha). And even that choice is slowly disappearing as USB mice become the de facto standard.
