On at least one occassion, Bush said that Iraq trained al Qaeda.

“Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases.” GWB, 10/07/02

On several occassions, Cheney insisted that there had been a meeting between Iraqi government officials and Muhamed Atta.

In his speech in Cinncinnatti where Bush made his pitch for the war, Bush made several statements that anybody would interpret to mean Iraq was involved with the terrorists who attacked us.

"We also must never forget the most vivid events of recent history. On 11 September, 2001, America felt its vulnerability - even to threats that gather on the other side of the earth. We resolved then, and we are resolved today, to confront every threat, from any source, that could bring sudden terror and suffering to America. "

He said this in September of 2003, "For America, there will be no going back to the era before 11 September 2001, to false comfort in a dangerous world. We have learned that terrorist attacks are not caused by the use of strength.

They are invited by the perception of weakness. And the surest way to avoid attacks on our own people is to engage the enemy where he lives and plans.

We are fighting that enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan today so that we do not meet him again on our own streets, in our own cities."

Colin Powell said this, "We've learned that Iraq has trained al-Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases. And we know that after 11 September, Saddam Hussein's regime gleefully celebrated the terrorist attacks on America.

Some citizens wonder, after 11 years of living with this problem, why do we need to confront it now? And there's a reason. We've experienced the horror of 11 September." Although he now regrets it.

When asked if there was a link between Iraq and 9/11, Dick Cheney said, "We don't know," which is the same thing as "Maybe."

Talking about the war in Iraq, Cheney said this, "We will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who've had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11."

There's more, but this should be enough. So to those who have answered this question that no such statements can be found, don't ever make that mistake again.

look on the finished progression from barren area typhoon to Iraqi Freedom. there is not any link to Terrorism. the reason at the back of getting into Iraq the 2nd time grow to be because of the multiple violations of U.N. Sanctions and Iraq's violations of no fly zones. Afghanistan grow to be the reaction for 9/11 Bin encumbered did no longer desire the U. S. in Iraq for the 1st Gulf war (barren area typhoon) and interestingly, that is his reason of dong the 9/11 assaults.

Just search for 9-11 conspiracies. There are thousands of websites that say all kinds of stuff. I am sure you can find tons of stuff about Bush/9-11 conspiracies if you just search for it. Come on, it will take less time than it did to write this question.

I have been paying close attention all these years and I don't think you will be presented with a legitimate link - because one does not exist.

However, I do vividly remember watching newsreels of the Iraqi's rejoicing in the streets on the eve of 9/11 at the request of their then dictator

- and for me, that is all the proof I need to know about Saddam's mindset, intent and alliances.

There are numerous press conferences and statements made in speeches where Bush repeatedly said the link existed -- I saw him and heard him many times -- but don't have copies of them -- though I'm sure a web search would turn them up.

I don't know that they necessarily did. But if you don't think Sadaam Hussein would have nuked as as soon as he had the weapons to, you are in la-la land. I am not giving them a pass for ignoring Al-Qadea (who by the way, are in IRAQ as well as Afghanistan where we are also fighting) but Sadaam could have been way more dangerous had he had the power finally to do it. and i still think we should be going after the ones who did it OF COURSE. but don't ignore the fact that Sadaam himself was a terrorist who loved to hate America.

If anyone gives you a link make sure you check it close. There is no link because it didn't happen. Good for you for doing your research.
