I have to write an essay on the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and we're supposed to provide examples of tone and mood. Any help? The best answer gets 10 points (obviously)

Thank you

Tone and Mood vary during the book.. but, overall, I think it deals with hope in the face of loss and hardship. It shows how hard life was for the characters, how dirty, and how final.. while throughout, you see them not only surviving, but thriving, and doing what feels right to them. Even in death, there is a peace.. knowing that she really was the one sister who didn't really have anything to move toward.. the thought of being the first to do something was wonderful.. instead of always feeling left behind.

I don't know a better way to describe it.. it is happy and sad at the same time.. and for the same reasons..

I suggest you talk about the times in which the girls wait for their fathers arrival by reading his letters, talk about Beth's death and its affect on the family, Jo's rejection of Laurie, Amy's jealousy leading her to burn Jo's script, Jo's passion for writing leading her to New York and a new love interest, Meg's ability to love another for love and not money, and Marmee's never ending kindness towards others even when her family has a hard time. There are so many different moods and tones in this book. These are just some ideas to jump start your brain. Good luck on your essay! Little Women was a great book!
