how do i stop the num lock from turning off when i log off or cancel on my computer?

I'm pretty sure this is a setup thing. When your PC boots, you can hit special keys to get into the set (BIOS?). In there, you can tell it you want numlocks on.

once you're using a Mac, open the equipment options, click the keyboard/mouse icon. go with the Keyboard tab, click the Modifier Keys button and choose No action for the caps lock key
