I'm applying to law schools this fall, and I wanted to slightly fudge my job position to make it sound more managerial and as if I have more responsibility. I wouldnt be lying, per se, because it would still be with the same company and the job title I plan on using is in the same ballpark as the real one, though it just isn't the official title.

I would recommend getting your company's permission to list the "fudged" title -- that would make your application valid.

Law schools are far more concerned with honesty and integrity than they are with any particular job title -- and once you become an attorney, that type of deception is grounds for suspension or disbarment -- so don't start.

they wont call your previous employer to and check all of your job duties. the most they would do it call to verify that you worked there. simple yes or no question
