I think I'd have to say Eta Carinae. I can't see it (I'm in Canada) but it fascinates me. Its also the most massive and the most active star in our galaxy.
That's pretty impressive.

For naked-eye viewing, I would have to say its a tie between Rigel and Betelgeuse (in Orion).
Rigel because its so bright and blue-white, Betelgeuse because of its beautiful reddish colour.

Sol, our Sun.

Without it, we wouldn't be here.
Beyond that, I'd have to say that it was Alberio, the head- star of Cygnus, The Swan.
It's a beautiful double- star, with strikingly offsetting colors... One, a deep, sapphire blue, and the other, a beautiful gold color.
Gorgeous through a telescope!

Sirius, the dog star. No, not because of Harry Potter. I like it because it's the brightest star, and I can easily get my bearings when I'm looking for constellations by finding it first.

pulsars.... there's something mind-boggling about a star that spins that fast.... the fastest are 'millisecond pulsars', ones that spin at least a hundred times per SECOND..... think about it.... something as large as a star that spins that fast...... go ahead, count a few seconds... 'one thousand one, one thousand two...'.... and a star has just spun around two hundred times?... yeah, those are something ELSE!!!!....
