You are talking about Nia Peeples who plays Karen Taylor. She has played in quite a few different series. I believe she was on Walker, Texas Ranger, and I think she was on Fame many years ago. Here is a link from wikipedia

The one who plays Neil's new love interest is no other than nia peeples. You probably remember her from fame when she was first starting out She was also in Walker Texas ranger with chuck Norris. In walker she was a Texas ranger working with walker and trebett. So i hope this has answered the question that you wanted the answer too

Nia Peeples was on Fame, Walker Texas Ranger and she also hosted shows called Party Machine & Top of the Pops. She also had 2 songs on Billboards top 100 back in the 90's. Trouble & Street of Dreams.
