I am 26 and for the last 4-6 weeks I have noticed that I am bruising very easy. I went to the hosp last week and when the nurse took out my IV, I was asked if I take blood thinners b/c I was bleeding so much... (it was everywhere)
I just put 2 and 2 together and I know they have to be linked in some way....
any suggestions?

I would go to your doctor and let him know this.
A simple blood test to check your platelets, MPV,INR, PT and
PTT can tell him if your blood is clotting well.
Don't use aspirin or drink alcohol as both are known
to be blood thinners. The doctor will also need a list
of medications you are on to be sure that none of
them may be causing this problem...this includes
over the counter medication like cold or pain medications
etc, herbs, herbal teas, and medications other doctors
may have prescribed for you.

If you are noticing that your area looks like the blood is
gathering just under your top layer of skin...you may need
to be sure to see the doctor soon.
Vitamin K helps the blood to clot, but should be taken
in a dose recommended by the doctor.

Another way to tell if you are bleeding alot. When you
are poked with a needle. See how long you have to
hold the bandage on till the blood clots and stops bleeding.
Hold it tight against the skin for awhile till it clots.

Hope this info is of some help.

I notice that right before my period or when I'm ovulating I bruise and fall down a lot earier than any other times. Take some iron pills to help your blood flow.

First off what did you go to the hospital for? That could quite possible be linked to this. But with out knowing, I would say get your iron checked, as well as your hematocrit. So if it concerns you obviously go to the doctor. good luck!

You need to go to the doctor for a check up and some blood work. I would not wait around.

Well, I guess it would be possible that you might be missing a clotting factor or something like that. Your doctor would have to test you for that.
