First question.
Are you married, and can you support your spawn?
I do not want you nor your spawn to leech off my taxes.

When you go for your first check up from what I remember they do a lot of blood work and ask you like a lot of times if you are sure you want to keep it. Also, I believe they listen for a heartbeat but the last time I went for a 1st check up I was 3 months preg and it was back in July 2005. My other pregnancy I never really got a first check up i was at the er. Well, good luck and I hope that helps and congrats regardless how old you are a baby is a beautiful thing!!

They will most likely confirm the pregnancy. Get a complete medical history on you (illnesses, allergies, genetic disorders, social habits like drinking, smoking, exercise...). Pelvic exam and a physical. They will try to get an estimated due date by examining you and asking questions about when your last period was and if you know when you ovulated or when the baby was conceived.
Most visits go about the same way...pee in a cup, measure belly and listen to heart beat, spread your legs.

You will fill out your medical history and your baby's father's medical history, your insurance information, and a lot of paper work- so bring your mom if you can to help you.
Then you will get weighed, have your blood pressure taken, urine in a cup, have blood work done, and have a pap smear, and listen to the babies heart beat if you are far enough along.
Your doctor my also allow you to see your baby on an ultrasound if you have an ultrasound machine in your doctor's office or she will schedule you for one soon.
She will also prescribe you to prenatal vitamins.
Write down any questions you have and make sure you ask her all of them at your visit.
You will see your doctor normally every 3-4 weeks until you get into your third trimester, then it will reduce to every 2 weeks, and then around 35 or 36 weeks it will be every week!
Good luck... and enjoy your pregnancy!

Go research online at the baby/parenting sites. I prepared a list of questions, etc that I wanted to ask...you are employing the doc so if you want things a certain way or don't want a certain test you can choose this...if the doc doesn't agree fire him. The first appointment they don't do much...take measurements, check your the baby and tell you how far along you are and your due date.

You might get an internal exam done (a Pap test). They will probably take your blood pressure, check your weight, test your sugar (by urine test), order blood tests for you, ask you about your medical history and check to see if you have any sexually transmitted or other diseases. Good luck to you!

They will do a full exam. It you have ever been to the gynocologist for a exam its kind of like that. They will also check your weight, measure your belly, and depending on how far along you are, they will check for a heartbeat.

they ask you a ton of questions about family diseases, which is a lot of stuff.... mostly its paper work and when your last period was and if it was planned. Its a lot. for you though scope out the doctor and see if you like him, you have a voice and if anyone isnt treating you okay or giving you respect switch.
