I guess you can add details to your question explaining to this person that it was an accident.
It could of been anyone giving the thumbs down,I have at tI'mes given a thumb up or down on answers to other people's questions.All I can say is if this person does find out,im sure he/she will be totally forgiving.The fact that you openly admit to making a mistake and want to express your apologize is a good sign you sincerely mean it..

I did that yesterday! Some guy said he loved heroine and I went to give him a thumbs down and accidently gave him a thumbs up! Yikes! Good thing it doesn't show who gives thumbs up like it does stars!

I guess you can't change it. I just wish I could give a thumbs up..all it does is says "saving" but does not show an increased number...I wish I knew what is up with that!!

just click on the star until it's how you want it.
edit....I thought you said star....with the thumbs I don't think you can change it! Sorry!

I know. You can star and unstar, so we should be able to thumb and unthumb, as well!! I had that happen to me, too.
