Some thought the Elite would be free of hardware failures but reports are starting to come in about people getting the red ring of death with the Elite. If you like Ps3 games which are awesome, then for the money go with the ps3 60gig for $499 that's only $20 more than the Elite at $479 and the ps3 does alot more than just gaming,,,internet browser, full online entertainment center, upscales dvds to HD, plays hd blueray movies ...ree wifi free rechargable controlers this list goes on and on, f the elite 360 etc you have to buy all those extras which will cost another $300...

Well every system starts out with bugs. I personally think that the 360 Elite is better than the PS3. So i would just wait until they find something thats wrong with the 360 Elite and wait until they fix it. Then buy it. The PS3 also probably has some bugs too. and also, the 360 Elite and the 360 are the same, just that the Elite is black and has more memory.

Almost a third of XBOX 360 are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 3%.
Let's compare them
PS3 has 8 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 50 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual DVD (9.5 gb).
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $
Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of doom" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.
Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
In 2008 we'll get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4 and other great exclusives.
PS3 online world will be free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.
In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".
The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console.
Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years.

I've owned the premium 360 and have had no problem with it even after owning it more than a year, sold it because at the time the Elite was offered it was the only 360 with hdmi. I have owned my Elite for four months no problems ever, 120 gig hard drive, comes with hdmi un like my $600 at the time 60 gig ps3, comes with an headset for xbox live chatting, as well as component and composite cables.
I love both systems, but if you really had to choose which system you wanted it's a matter of your preference of games, many shooters come to the 360 gears of war, halo, etc while sony is the home of the rpg.
R n D you need to get your facts straight and stop feeding ppl lies, the 360 elite is $449 not $479 secondly the xbox 360 does more than gaming as well, media center extender, video market place to download movies, cartoons and tv shows, video chat, instant messanging, text messaging, voice messanging, you name it.
As an extendermy 360 can stream live tv via my Vista premium c with tv tuner card, also shoul I choose to I can use a web browser via media center.
