Are you asking about metal sculpture? If so, your assumptions are a bit off.

Some of the most prized and sought after sculptures in the world are bronze (metal) sculptures. And most modern artists who do modern sculptures work in steel (metal) and iron (also metal). Ever hear of Calder or Rodin?

There are people who don't like additive sculpture, and those who don't likle subtractive sculpture. On a civilized planet, we would be strictly segregated from each other.
