mark it as spam and report it if that option comes with your provider. and take a note of the senders address and block it delete all your spam dont read it if you can help it and forget about it look for spelling mistakes and odd wording if you get e mail from someone you never heard of delte it after you dumped in your spam folder stuff like that will then go str8 into spamsville.take some time and read up on email safety and study your options itsall part of your isp service it only takes 20 mins

Run, do not walk, to your computer, and rid yourself of all the angst which is coming from your fertile imagination. I got one of those a long time ago and it put me into a tailspin. I felt like the village idiot when my friend told me oh sure I know just how to get rid of that and he went click and my problems all went out the window and I actually cried a couple of seconds from all the tension I had built up inside worrying about it, and you thought you were crazy?
This is what you should do with that e-mail:

DELETE DELETE DELETE DELETE

Get that stupid e-mail off your computer in the next five minutes and enjoy waking up in the morning.

That is a spam email. It did not come from Microsoft (well assuming Bill wasn't having a bad day) so just ignore and delete it.

Don't click any links on it, else it could lead to viruses.

what you have just experienced is something called phishing. essentialy, a spammer, cracker, ID theif, or someone else with mal intent, has just contacted you under the guise of a reputable orginization.

usualy, there will be something like a link or email for you to respond to. under no circumstances should reply or follow any links. they will lead you to virus, spyware, trojans, and all sorts of things you do not want, because then your personal information will actulay be jepordized.

if you are still feeling uncertain about the email, contact microsoft DIRECTLY through their website (link below) and copy and paste the email and ask them about it. DO NOT click any links in that email or reply directly to that email.

MESSENGER SPAM !
you have messenger spam
NOT to be confused with your instant messenger/s

start
all programs
administrative tools
services

all services are in alphabetical order

Alerter--
right click
select properties
from drop down menu
select disable

Messenger--
same thing as above

these are ports left open in the XP windows version but closed in Vista.
hackers know this and ping for these open ports to install messenger spam spyware.

after disabling,run anti-spyware program/s

I'm going to say that if it doesn't have a legitimate @Microsoft.com e-mail address or something similar to that, then it shouldn't be taken too seriously. If it's an AIM, AOL, MSN, Yahoo, or other provider, then I'd just delete it or maybe report it or something like that.

Please stay safe!

ok I honestly haven't understood a thing you're trying to say but I'll try to at least. Just ignore the Email if you haven't done anything wrong like download pirated software or if you haven't got anything illegeal information, pics, music, etc. on your pc.

Ignore the email. Microsoft has no clue what you have on your computer.
