Both indoors and outdoors. I have some cute stuff for inside use and I have some air-blown figures and scarecrows for outside. I've already started noticing a few people having some little things out. How early is too early?

Indigo... why doesn't your neighborhood do Halloween? My in-laws don't participate on Halloween. They say "its evil and mean-spirited". They aren't overly religious, but its one thing they are weird about.

I usually put out my fall decor NOW and then put out the Halloween specific stuff after October 1st. Keep it up until November 1 and then keep the fall stuff out to stay until Thanksgiving. Check out this site for some awesome ideas:

I start decorating as soon as all the stores I go to have halloween stuff. Which is usually the end of September to early October. Scarecrows are fall related. You can put those up the 1st day of fall which I think was yesterda :-)
As soon as you put out your stuff so will your neighbors :-)

Our neighborhood will probably be silent on Halloween just like the last two year. : ( I'm pretty much craving to compensate by starting to decorate on the 1st...at least we can have fun with it for a month if actual Halloween doesn't much happen.

Glenna: No matter how I decorate my face, I still have to sneak up on a glass of water to drink it ! When I remove my mask, people scream and tell me to put the mask back on !!!

outside i say 2 weeks ahead of time. inside 3-7 day's ahead of time.
